Courtney Shaler Smith is the first Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties.  Courtney works in Habitat’s new office space located in the Glens Falls Technical Park. Established in 1991, Habitat for Humanity has built 20 houses as an all-volunteer organization, partnering with families to provide them with decent, affordable housing.  Support for this work comes from local businesses, churches, community organizations and individuals.

Courtney’s resume includes over 15 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector.  Most recently, she coordinated community health grants that covered four counties - expanding outreach efforts, building capacity and mobilizing community involvement.  She is a graduate of the College of St. Joseph with a B.A. in business and leadership.  In 2012, she was named one of the Post Star’s Top 20 Under 40.  Additionally, she serves in a volunteer capacity as Ambassador for the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and as a troop leader for Girl Scouts of Northeastern NY.

Habitat for Humanity was started in Georgia by Millard Fuller and his wife Linda in 1976.  Today, Habitat has chapters throughout the United States.  For more information on the important work they do, please visit www.Habitat.org.
