The Historic Homes Tour is coming up on Saturday, May 11 from 10AM-4PM. As we have done in the past, we are utilizing local impact organizations to help with our large volunteer lift during the day – it usually takes about 125+ volunteers throughout the one-day event. Volunteers for the Historic Homes Tour are there to ensure the safety of the home. Volunteers make sure that attendees are not going into areas where they are not allowed and that no one is taking pictures inside. They will be stationed in one location for the duration of the shift and we try to provide a few details about the space so that if someone asks a question they may have the answer. All houses have a history in the program, so people will have that to reference, but they do occasionally ask about furniture, art, and architectural details.

Volunteer shifts are 11:45 am - 2:00 pm and 1:45 pm - 4:00 pm.

• Special Speaker: Dave Patterson will take us on a captivating journey through 100 years of Rotary Club history.
• Delicious Food: Savor delectable dishes provided by the Wandering Food Dude.
• Soulful Music: The Déjà Vu Jazz combo will set the mood with their melodic tunes.
• Engaging Activities: Participate in a wine pull, explore the silent auction, strike a pose at the photo booth, and discover other delightful surprises.

Please join Rebuilding Together to do maintainence for people in need.  Tasks can include yardwork, painting, and light construction.

10am to 7pm Thursday and Friday

Saratoga Hospital Cancer Survivor Event

When: 9/20 and 9/21/24

Golf Tournament

When: September 20th

Where: The Edison Club

Volunteer activities: help with rotating with employees at holes, helping with raffle baskets in the morning or afternoon, selling 50/50 tickets, handing out trophies, and more beginning at 9:00 a.m. and lasting all day. (You do not need to come for the entire day! We can schedule people in shifts. Coming for just a few hours works!)

the Saratoga Hospital Radiation Oncology Center is looking for volunteers to help transport equipment out to the Wiawaka Retreat Center in Lake George (https://www.wiawaka.org/) for our annual cancer survivor event scheduled on Saturday, September 21^st.

 

For this year’s retreat, “Anchored in Hope,” we expect close to one hundred cancer survivors to attend - the event is truly a retreat day for cancer survivors, caregivers, and volunteers – who join for a “day away from cancer” in a supportive, relaxed, natural atmosphere. The day’s schedule includes various breakout sessions focusing on mindfulness, health, art, and all over well-being. We also offer free activities such as tai chi, yoga, reiki, massage therapy and gentle stretching. Meals, beverages, and snacks are all provided free of charge.

 

Our ask is whether there might be 6-8 Rotarian volunteers, ideally with several pickups or vans, that would work alongside us transporting small foldable tents-tables-chairs both from Saratoga Hospital out to Wiawaka Retreat Center on that Friday (9/20) in the early afternoon and then return with their vehicles to Wiawaka on Saturday (9/21) at 4:30 pm to pick up the equipment and return it to Saratoga Hospital. We will have extra help at both ends – Saratoga Hospital and Wiawaka – to help load/unload.

Need volunteers  The event runs from 11-2pm at Caffe Lena. Set up occurs from 10-11AM and breakdown is very quick at the end. We have volunteers in many different areas include the front entrance, tables, and rounding.
